Lovely venue, clean and well organised went to see Sally Morgan, playhouse still has a personal feel and seating is great not too large so you are miles from the stage worth seeing something there
We visit every year for the panto!
Parking is right outside (expensive) and do need to leave plenty of time for queueing to get parked.
Always have a nice time and enjoy all the shows that I have been to at the Playhouse
Lovely venue and staff though the decision to place chairs in the front of the tiered row is a bad one. If you are in the second row like we were, the people in the chairs in front are higher than you and you barely see a thing. The lovely lady in the interval allowed us to move to the box at the back. If not for this it would have been 1 star.
Fantastic little theatre. All seats are good seats. Seen a few performances there in 2023, all very good. Well run and good value.
Found the whole place a bit odd, to be honest.
Wizard of Oz was great, but the auditorium has a tired and old fashioned look with some really old equipment.
We had to walk down this odd corridor to get to our seats, round various turns, and through various doors. We then had an air conditioning unit blowing cold air on our heads, we were freezing.
Refreshments were way over priced, I needed a loan to buy the smallest tub of ice cream.
The place desperately needs a major refurb.
Lovely theatre, easy to get to and had a fantastic night watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I was so so impressed by the quality of performers and the staging. My only issue with the theatre itself is they had a row of non-fixed chairs as the front row but these chairs are higher than the row of theatre chairs behind meaning that if anyone over 5ft sits in front of you, you can’t see a thing! As someone who is 6ft, I rarely have any issues seeing over people in front but this was silly (picture attached - apologies if this is you, not your fault. The theatre should have thought of this as being a problem!)
Superb theatre. Easy to find and very convenient car park adjacent. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Seats comfortable with good leg room. Will come again!
I've been performing at this theatre for many years. The auditorium has recently been refurbished, and it looks very smart. It has easy access and parking and a bar.
